Friend, I'd like you to read the following quote from a member of Congress: Donald Trump "bears responsibility" for the Jan. 6 insurrection and "should have immediately denounced the mob when he saw what was unfolding."

Would it surprise you to learn that quote is from Republican and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy?

It's in stark contrast to McCarthy's current actions and statements: In fact, he has refused to cooperate with the House's bipartisan Jan. 6 committee, despite their request that McCarthy testify about his phone call with former President Donald Trump on the day of the insurrection.

Friend, it's beyond clear that some of Trump's staunchest allies – from Kevin McCarthy to former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows to Steve Bannon – have key information that would enable Congress to hold the former President accountable for the attacks on our Capitol. But instead of standing for truth and accountability, nearly the entire Republican Party is bowing down to Donald Trump, his lies, his conspiracies, and his violent rhetoric.

Enough. If Kevin McCarthy is going to turn his back on the truth and embrace hypocrisy, then the committee must use its subpoena powers to force him to testify. Americans have put massive grassroots pressure on Republicans before, and it's worked. The investigation is getting closer to the truth every day. But we must keep speaking out.

So, in the wake of this latest news, I need you to make your voice heard. Click here if you agree that the House Jan 6. committee should subpoena Kevin McCarthy.
