John,
For more than a decade, Mitch McConnell and the Republican Party have weaponized and abused the filibuster to rule from the minority and block virtually every major piece of legislation introduced by Democrats.
With Republican state lawmakers passing discriminatory voter suppression laws across the country, it’s time for Democrats to take action and change the filibuster’s rules. We can’t let the filibuster stand in the way of passing the Freedom to Vote Act , the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act , and protecting voting rights for all Americans.
It’s too important. The right to vote is crucial — the right upon which all others in our democracy rest. As Republicans continue to strip away voting rights, we are already beginning to witness the pillars of our democracy crumbling. We can’t let that happen.
Add your name to my petition if you agree we must abolish the filibuster to preserve our democracy. If everyone reading this added their name, it would make a strong statement against Senate obstruction, and that’s why I’m respectfully asking for yours, John. [[link removed]]

McConnell has weaponized the filibuster to block House legislation on climate change, gun safety, health care, voting rights, and more. Enough is enough. We must change the filibuster’s rules and pass comprehensive voting protections.
The GOP’s new strategy of voter suppression tactics is to keep voters out of the polls and increase their chances of winning in the midterm elections. They know they can’t win straight up so they’re targeting young people and people of color and other marginalized communities, making it harder for all of us to vote.
It’s despicable. It’s a threat to our democracy. And we can’t let it stand. The House has passed countless bills that have been blocked by McConnell’s filibuster. It’s making Congress dysfunctional. And sadly, some Senate Democrats still need convincing.
If you agree, add your name to my petition demanding the abolition of the Senate filibuster. Our democracy depends on it. [[link removed]]
