Check out the latest from NYGOP Volume 47 | January 23rd, 2022 This Week at the NYGOP Follow Us On Social Media! Dear {First Name}, New York is in crisis. Democrats have ceded our state to career criminals with their radical policies and anti-police rhetoric. The results have been deadly and heartbreaking. Friday night, NYPD officer Jason Rivera was murdered and his partner, Wilbert Mora, is critically wounded and fighting for his life after being ambushed responding to a 911 call. We are only 3 weeks into the new year, and 5 NYPD officers have been shot. Earlier in the week, an 11-month old baby girl was caught in gun crossfire. The image of her bloody pink jacket lying in the street should haunt every New Yorker. Shootings are not the only source of violence. An innocent 40-year old woman, Michelle Go, was recently shoved to her death in front of an oncoming subway train by a deranged homeless man. There are countless other New Yorkers whose names we will never know who are victims of surging crime rates. The number one job of government is to keep people safe and the Democrats who are in charge have failed miserably. They bend over backward to cater to criminals while law-abiding New Yorkers get screwed. It's infuriating and New Yorkers must rise up to say: enough. Kathy Hochul is no moderate. The top levels of her administration are stacked with "defund the police" radicals. She refuses to repeal Democrats' bail reform laws and she won't even speak out against Manhattan DA Bragg's outrageous policy to not prosecute dangerous crimes. Just this week, she gave convicts more giveaways in her budget proposal. She will continue to cater to the radical left and cannot be trusted to restore public safety. The only way we are going to stop this madness is with the election of a Republican governor. New Yorkers of all political stripes are finally waking up to the empty promises and failures of the Democrat Party. Now, it is up to us to harness that energy and offer voters the chance to return safety and security to our state. We must vote like our lives depend on it, because they do. Sincerely, Nick Langworthy NYGOP Chairman Our Hearts Are With The Entire NYPD Family Please join us in praying for the family of Officer Jason Rivera who was killed in the line of duty & his partner, Officer Wilbert Moya, who is fighting for his life in the hospital after being critically injured. This must STOP. Help Us Defeat Chuck Schumer! Poor Chuck was just delivered a huge blow with the defeat of his radical plan to end the filibuster. We just got a big WIN on the board, but now we must deliver the final blow. Schumer is up for reelection this year and this is our chance to finally DEFEAT him. Chip in $5, $10, $25, $50 or whatever you can afford TODAY to send Schumer packing. Contribute Here Interested in Running for Office? Taking Back New York Starts With You! Her constant pandering to the far left is at the expense of everyday New Yorkers’ safety, security and wallets,” said state GOP chairman Nick Langworthy. “There is nothing moderate about her — the only way to stop this madness is to elect a Republican governor in November.” Read Full Here NYPD cop killed, second officer clings to life after shooting in Harlem apartment New York Post An NYPD rookie cop was shot dead and another officer left clinging to life after being ambushed “suddenly, without warning” during a domestic disturbance call involving a mother and son Friday evening in Harlem, authorities said. The slain officer, Jason Rivera, was just 22 and started on the job in 2020, police said. The gravely injured cop, 27-year-old Wilbert Mora, joined the force in 2018. “It’s bad,” a police source said of Mora’s condition. One of the two officers was struck in the face, sources said. Hochul end cashless bail after another officer shot in line of duty Fox News In New York, Republicans and law enforcement continued to call for the repeal of a controversial bail reform law they argue has driven up crime across the Empire State over the past two years. In response to New York City seeing its third police officer shot early Thursday, three weeks into the new year, Paul DiGiacomo, president of the Detectives Endowment Association, demanded New York Gov. Kathy Hochul and state lawmakers in Albany make immediate changes to the legislation. The Detectives Endowment Association is a major police union in the city. "It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the start of bail reform till now, there's a direct correlation to shootings, drug dealing and violent crime in this city," DiGiacomo said at a press conference at a Staten Island hospital, where the detective shot in a leg was undergoing surgery. Read Full Here NYPD data shows serious crimes up — despite Mayor Adams’ ‘perception’ New York Post New NYPD statistics reveal serious crimes, including in the transit system, are only increasing under Mayor Eric Adams — who has dismissed concern over subway incidents as simply “perception of fear.” Major Big Apple crimes jumped by more than a third in the first two weeks of this year compared to the same period in 2021 — with transit crimes alone soaring 65.5 percent. While the figures remain a small sample size, the upward trend provides an early challenge for Adams as he tries to reassure jittery straphangers that cops have everything in hand underground after several terrifying recent rail attacks, particularly Saturday’s horrific random fatal subway push in Times Square. During a virtual appearance at New York University School of Law, Bragg called prosecutorial discretion “a bedrock principle embedded in our Constitution.” “Look, one thing that has happened — and it’s happened in our state, it’s happened federally — is the proliferation of criminal laws,” he said. “No prosecutor is enforcing every single law all the time,” Bragg said. “We’re all exercising prosecutorial discretion.” He added, “You know, what I and some others have done is: We said it out loud in the spirit of transparency.” Read Full Here Americans grade President Biden as poll numbers take another hit New York Post President Biden faced criticism from over soaring gas prices, inflation and his policies as his approval rating sank to 33% in a recent poll. "I give him a minus 10," Stuart, of Tucson, said when asked to grade Biden on a scale of 1-10. "If you like inflation, you like illegal criminals coming across the border, if you like where he killed the gasoline," he continued. Joseph from Arizona gave Biden a five. "Some of the things that he implemented just aren't going over well with the people," he said. Read Full Here Ready to take back our state? Contribute today!
