Kevin McCarthy — likely the next speaker if Republicans win the house — recently announced that he would strip Democrats of committee assignments if he’s in charge . He already singled out Reps. Eric Swalwell of California, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, and Adam Schiff of California, and there could be more.

David has always been outspoken against the harmful actions of Republicans, including Kevin McCarthy. He could be targeted by Republicans if they win. That would be bad for Rhode Island, and bad for democracy.
