In 2018, I became the first Democrat to flip Illinois’s 6th Congressional District in almost half a century. Since then, I’ve represented the United States at international climate summits, voted to pass transformative investments in green infrastructure, and helped put climate at the top of our legislative agenda in DC. 

But even today, nearly half of my Republican colleagues refuse to fully accept the scientific consensus behind climate change. With the window of opportunity for us to make a difference in this fight closing, we can’t afford to put science-deniers in charge of the future of our planet.
