Friends,

Earlier this month, our country paused to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Of all of the lessons Dr. King taught us, there is one teaching that has remained with me throughout this week: our vote is our voice.

I was proud to vote for the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the Freedom to Vote Act on the House floor. It is regrettable that not a single one of my Republican colleagues cast their vote in favor of these bills.

Fifty-four years after Dr. King’s assassination, voting rights are still under attack across the country. We must honor Dr. King with action, and I will continue to do everything in my power to protect the right to vote for all Americans.

I hope you will join me, this month and always, as we honor and remember Dr. King’s legacy.

Thank you,
Frank J. Mrvan
