Today marks the 49th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s ruling to protect
access to abortion care under Roe v. Wade.
I want to make my stance clear: Everyone deserves access to quality health
care and privacy to make deeply personal health care decisions with their
doctors.
But as we’ve seen with the surge in attacks against abortion access — the
fight for reproductive justice is nowhere near over. Right now, states
like Kentucky are in grave danger to lose the right to an abortion
if Mitch McConnell’s packed Supreme Court succeeds in overturning Roe v.
Wade.

Especially after the Supreme Court signaled last year that they will
support Texas’ 6-week abortion ban and disavow the rights enshrined to us
under the original Roe v. Wade ruling — we should all be deeply
concerned.
What’s happening right now is an urgent reminder of the work ahead of us
to defend reproductive rights.
We must keep organizing to make sure everyone has quality health care,
including abortion access. Reproductive health care must be protected.
Women’s rights must be protected. The Supreme Court must be expanded.
This is also a reminder of how much is at stake in our elections. This is
why we’re running against Rand Paul who has consistently upheld an
anti-woman and anti-family agenda and voted against the protections we
need to defend reproductive rights. This is why it’s so critical we expand
our Senate majority and end the destructive filibuster that has blocked so
many opportunities to protect abortion access in our country.
No matter what, we won’t back down. Together, we will fight to make sure
women can make choices over their health care and their lives. [ [link removed] ]If
