John,
On this day 49 years ago, the Supreme Court affirmed that everyone in this country has the right to choose. But this year, Roe v. Wade is on the brink of being dismantled by the current court -- which is dominated by hard-right judges who Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell rammed through over the voices of the American people.
In September, I proudly voted for the Women's Health Protection Act, which will protect the right to choose nationwide and fight back against the recent wave of draconian laws we've seen in states like Texas and Mississippi. This bill will codify Roe v. Wade into law, and protect it from any action the Supreme Court might take this term.
It's time for the Senate to follow the House's lead and pass the Women's Health Protection Act. Join me to add your name and demand action >>
I trust women to make their own healthcare decisions. Period. I won my seat in Congress (defeating an entrenched incumbent) in large part by standing up for this principle, and I'll never apologize for being 100% pro-choice.
So I'm going to fight every step of the way. We're facing a four-alarm fire for reproductive rights, and we have to expend every possible effort to urge the Senate to pass the Women's Health Protection Act.
Republicans across the country want to ban abortion and send women back into alleys and mysterious dark rooms. I refuse to let anti-choice extremists win. I refuse to return to an era where women lived in fear.
If you're with me, add your name now and tell the Senate to waste no time in passing the Women's Health Protection Act. It's our best defense against five decades of progress being rolled back.
