Today marks the 49th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision. And nearly 50 years after this declaration of reproductive freedom, Roe is still under attack. In fact, one of my opponents has filed legislation to outlaw abortion rights in Colorado.
The decision to have an abortion is deeply personal, and should be kept between a patient and their doctor. So, I co-sponsored the Women’s Health Protection Act to codify Roe into federal law. If passed, this bill ensure that everyone can safely access abortion care no matter where they live.
The fight to defend Roe v. Wade and uphold the right to safe and legal abortion care for people across the country is critical, folks. We can’t afford to get complacent.
Will you add your name to my petition calling on the Senate to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act? We must enshrine access to reproductive care into law once and for all.
Thank you for standing up for choice with me on this important day,
— Michael
