Wisconsin Needs More Monoclonal Antibodies
Since the beginning of the pandemic, I have been an advocate for research into treatments that can both boost the immune system and treat people who have already contracted COVID.
An extremely effective tool in our arsenal are monoclonal antibodies. You may have heard of this treatment, but I do not believe the benefits have been adequately publicized by the mainstream media and the Biden Administration. Roughly 16 months ago, President Trump beat COVID with help from monoclonal antibodies. I have personally spoken with people in the 6th District who were experiencing severe symptoms after testing positive for COVID and bounced back within 24 hours of receiving this treatment. Monoclonal antibodies have also been helping alleviate the strain on many of our hospitals and I am a firm believer that more lives could be saved if this treatment was made more accessible.
Last September, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) notified states that the federal government would be taking over control of distribution access to monoclonal antibody treatments. Since then, Wisconsin and several other states have experienced significant shortages.
While speaking with health care providers in Wisconsin, I was made aware of the shortages since the federal takeover of monoclonal antibodies. I am extremely disappointed that the news media does not more frequently cover the benefits of monoclonal antibody treatments, and that the federal government has done such a poor job in providing this treatment to patients who need it. As your Representative, I am working with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and my congressional colleagues to ensure treatments become more readily available for those who need them.
I spoke on the House floor to highlight the benefits of this life-saving treatment and call on the Biden Administration to increase the supply distributed to Wisconsin.
Forum on Rising Energy Costs
This week, the House Oversight Committee Republicans and Congressional Western Caucus held a joint forum on the failing energy policies of the Biden Administration, which has led to skyrocketing heating and gas prices. For months, we have been urging Oversight Committee Chair Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) to hold a hearing on the rising cost of energy and ways the government can get out of the way and help lower gas prices and heating costs for the American people.
Many of the policies that put restrictions on energy producers, which result in higher costs for you, exist based on the belief that America is rife with pollution. The fact is, our environment is much cleaner now than it was even a decade ago. From 2009 to 2019, the United States reduced carbon emissions by 7 percent. Over that same period, China increased emissions by 38 percent and India's output increased by 56 percent. Since 2011, methane emissions from natural gas and oil production have declined by nearly 60 percent. Another encouraging statistic is that SUVs and pickup trucks are about 99 percent cleaner for most tailpipe pollutants than they were in the 1970s.
Maintaining a healthy and sustainable environment is of utmost importance and it is possible to do this while still growing our economy and reducing our dependence on foreign energy sources. Coupled with inflation, the policies of the Biden Administration have resulted in gas prices in Wisconsin reaching a 7-year high last October and home heating costs rising enough to hurt working families.
In the video below, I make these points and argue that many energy policies, including Green New Deal policies, are overly burdensome and based on a view of America that is decades old.
ICYMI: Interview On My Fentanyl Bill
Fentanyl is tearing families apart in what has become the deadliest drug overdose crisis in American history. After more than 100,000 Americans died of drug overdoses over 12 months, U.S. Customs and Border Protection continues to seize record amounts of fentanyl at the border.
I joined "Wake Up America" to discuss President Biden's border crisis, and my bill to bring a sorely-needed increase to the penalty of trafficking deadly fentanyl.

Weekly Roundup
I spoke on the House floor to highlight the dramatic increase in crime in the U.S. and double-down on my support for police officers.
I met up with my friend Neil Hansen, a pilot who flew missions for Air America during the Vietnam War, at the Aviation Heritage Center in Sheboygan Falls after their screening of “Memphis Belle”.
I am honored to have earned an A+ rating from the Susan B. Anthony List for my work advocating for life in Congress. I will always vote to protect the lives of the unborn and stop your tax dollars from going to organizations that provide abortions.
Last weekend, I joined the Beechwood Night Fliers Snowmobile Club for their annual brat and burger fry in Adell!
It was great to speak with employees of Guy & O’Neill Manufacturing in Fredonia, Ozaukee County's 2021 Large Business of the Year. Thank you for giving me a behind-the-scenes look at your facility.
