Some Democratic Senate candidates are starting to get the message, John. If we focus our messaging and outreach efforts on urban and suburban areas – we will continue to bleed support in rural areas and small towns across America. The numbers do not lie ⬇⬇⬇
Democrats do better when we win the economic populist messaging battles. From Bill Clinton to Sherrod Brown – Democratic candidates who focused on economic issues were able to beat Republicans in rural, redder areas.
Every small town has its own set of problems – whether it’s a lack of access to basic services, job losses, mills closing up shop, farms getting hit by drought or flooding – and yet, we’re not talking about the real-life issues that people can relate to in their daily lives.
That’s why our top goal at RuralVote.org is to get an economic populist message out and improve the Democratic brand in rural areas. We have to stop the bleeding of support in rural America! Chip in $10 to help us scale up our rural messaging machine ahead of the 2022 Election.
We can’t afford to ignore rural areas and just focus on urban and suburban communities. It’s a losing strategy. We need to adopt an economic populist message and make sure it’s heard loud and clear in every small town in America.
