Support SHARK's Work Fighting for Animals!
January 22, 2022

Dear Friends,

A SHARK team is in Laurel County, Kentucky, to deal with illegal cockfights. An illegal cockfight happened last night at a pit called CJ’s (pictured below). We made the state police aware of it a few days ago, and again yesterday during the day. Nevertheless, the police did nothing. This is completely and absolutely unacceptable!

Last night around midnight I went to State Police Post 11, which is the post responsible for CJ’s pit. The police are claiming that they are “investigating,” and won’t say anything more. I am calling bullshit!

Another illegal cockfight is scheduled for tonight, at a place called Laurel Creek. There was an illegal event held there last Saturday night. We called the police on that night, and the police did nothing.

I have alerted the police that Saturday night, I will go to the Laurel Creek pit myself if the police won’t do their job. As you may recall, the last time I did that, in Ohio, I was jumped by two thug cockfighters, and was put in the hospital. My associate Adam Fahnestock’s vehicle was rammed, forced off the road, and totaled.

I don’t want to get into that situation again, but the SHARK team didn’t come this far to watch nothing happen to criminals committing horrific, illegal animal abuse. It’s time to force the hand of the state police, who have unfortunately chosen to the same path of inaction as corrupt Laurel County Sheriff John Root, and equally corrupt Clay County Sheriff Patrick Robinson.

Please contact Kentucky State Police Post 11, and tell the state police to do their job! Tonight’s cockfight must be stopped so animals are not brutally killed. Cockfighting is illegal according to both state law in Kentucky, and federal law throughout the United States. Please advise SHARK of any response you receive.
