Anna was just a week old when she arrived at Farm Sanctuary, straight from a factory farm. Most turkeys in industrial systems live just four to five months before they’re sent to slaughter. Anna has now been with us for more than five years—and despite the physical and emotional scars of her past life, she is one of the silliest, most playful members of her flock. Had Anna’s life gone according to plan, she would have just been another statistic.
