With the Texas primaries right around the corner, the work we have to do
to Flip the South is already in full swing.

Right now though, Republicans are working overtime as they have already
registered more of their voters and knocked on more doors, taking our
playbook as they look to expand their power in Texas.

That is exactly why Democracy for America organizes 365 days a year
though.

In fact, when we launched our campaign to Flip the South last year, we
began working with partners on the ground and meeting with local elected
officials right away so that we could be prepared to mobilize and reach
out to the voters we need to win.

To elect strong progressives like Jessica Cisneros and Greg Casar, we must
scale up the size of our outreach efforts right now so that we can reach
as many voters as possible before early voting begins next month.

But the work of registering voters, knocking on doors, and getting them to
show up to the polls takes resources.

Make no mistake about it, the increasingly authoritarian Republican Party
will stop at nothing to undo all of the progress DFA members have achieved
in making Texas bluer than it has ever been.

We cannot sit back and wait to get involved until after the primaries; by
then it will be too late to elect progressive's that will take on
Republicans seeking to tear down the democratic reforms that make a
reflective democracy possible.

That’s why we are on the ground working to elect progressive champions
like Jessica and Greg and are preparing to endorse more candidates before
the March 1st primary takes place.
