49 years ago today, Roe v. Wade became the law of the land. This landmark decision has made it possible for millions of women and nonbinary folks to access abortion safely, while also opening more doors for them to pursue education, employment, and simply live their lives on their own terms.

But the protections of Roe have never been in greater danger than they are today. As Governor, I’ll always step up to defend access to safe and legal abortion. Will you help make this a reality by signing up to volunteer for our campaign? [[link removed]]

More than 600 abortion restrictions were introduced in nearly every state in the country last year, which is the most of any year since Roe was decided. These heartless attacks force people to travel hundreds of miles, find child care, take time off from work – if they can even afford it. And it’s Black, brown, and low-income communities that are most impacted. In the coming months, the Supreme Court could overturn Roe altogether. Dozens of states would immediately move to ban abortions, jeopardizing care for millions more people across the country.

As your AG, I’ve defended access to comprehensive reproductive health care at every turn – whether that was challenging abortion restrictions, standing up for birth control access, or expanding access to abortion care here in Masssachusetts. And as your next Governor, I’ll make it a top priority to ensure that every Massachusetts resident can access the quality, affordable health care that they need, including abortion care.
