Team,

Today is the 49th anniversary of the landmark Supreme Court Roe v. Wade decision that made abortion legal in the United States. As we wait for the Supreme Court to decide on the case that could determine the future of Roe v. Wade, we must reaffirm our commitment to defending reproductive freedom.

Last year, we saw an unprecedented number of abortion restrictions and bans passed by state legislatures. Texas was one of those states, with S.B.8. becoming the most extreme abortion ban in the country. Since then, reproductive rights activists have been fighting to appeal the dangerous law that's left millions of Texans without access to reproductive health care.

People are left with no choice but to travel hundreds of miles to the nearest clinic, struggle with lengthy wait times, and deal with financial barriers. This is the reality of a future without Roe v. Wade, and we can't let that happen.

On today's anniversary, will you join me in the fight to defend reproductive freedom? Add your name to recommit to protecting reproductive rights in 2022.

I've always been guided by the principle that health care decisions should remain between people and their doctors. Last year, I voted to pass the Women's Health Protection Act to enshrine the right to choose under the law. It will prohibit bans, mandatory waiting periods, and other restrictions on a person's reproductive rights.

The anniversary of Roe v. Wade is a stark reminder of how far we've come, and how little it takes to lose decades of progress. We have to stay vigilant in the fight for reproductive rights. Our civil rights are on the ballot in 2022 as we work to defend pro-choice leaders in the House.

Today, please add your name to recommit to the work of defending access to reproductive health care >> [link removed]

It's an honor to serve you.
