State Republicans are making a mockery of the democratic process.

In June, Republican state legislators sent me a budget that failed to adequately pay teachers, fund and build schools, expand healthcare while at the same time granting more sweeping tax breaks for corporations.

I vetoed that budget because our students, teachers, and families deserve better.

Now, Republicans are are it again, trying get around my veto. First they tried to override it when I was at a 9/11 memorial service, and lately they've been cancelling the veto override vote every time it's on the calendar because all Democrats have been present.

It's time for state Republicans to stop playing games, John.

I'm working hard to hold radical Republicans accountable, but I can't do it alone. They're using every dirty trick in the book to beat me. Can I count on your support to help stop them, John?
