John,
Our democracy is under attack on two fronts:
This week represents the 12-year anniversary of the disastrous Supreme Court Citizens United decision, which opened the floodgates to money in politics.
At the same time, just in the last year, 19 states have passed 34 laws attacking the voting rights of communities of color.1
In 2020, CHN helped turn out record numbers of Latino voters in Georgia and across the country to fight for our shared human needs agenda. That agenda is under attack in the halls of Congress by corporate and Big Money interests who seek to maintain their grip on our politics and our economy.
With the midterm election year upon us, rush a donation today so we can help people with low incomes and communities of color impact the 2022 elections and counter the outsized influence of money in politics.

Thank you for fighting for a democracy that includes all of us, not just the wealthy few.

John,
This week, the U.S. Senate failed to act to protect the voting rights of Black and brown voters, and voters of low incomes, whose rights are under relentless attack in state legislatures across the country. These attacks were made possible by a 5-4 Supreme Court ruling that gutted the Voting Rights Act in 2013.
Twelve years ago today, the Supreme Court handed down another disastrous ruling―Citizens United―which undermines our democracy by providing the super-wealthy with outsized influence in our elections. We must work to ensure the voices of everyday people are not outweighed by the money and power of the wealthy few.
In 2020, when billionaires spent a record $1.2 billion in the presidential election, CHN countered that influence by empowering working people, helping turn out record numbers of Latino voters in Georgia and across the country.1 We didn’t tell them who to vote for, but we did tell them how much was at stake. We made sure they knew how to cast an absentee ballot or to vote early. We told them how to register to vote.
As we prepare for this year’s midterm elections, and to counter the outsized influence of money in politics, can you donate $5 today to CHN’s critical voter turnout efforts?

Rising levels of income and wealth inequality have given rise to increasing influence of Big Money in politics. At the same time, just in the last year, 19 states have passed 34 laws restricting our right to vote―especially targeting the voting rights of Black, brown, and Indigenous communities.2
This includes gerrymandering voting districts to limit the power of communities of color, restricting early and mail-in voting, removing polling locations and ballot drop boxes from Black, brown and Indigenous communities, and putting up barriers to voter registration.
We’re fighting back, empowering Black and brown voters to participate in our democracy. Can you pitch in $5 today so we can help working people and communities of color navigate the ever-changing election laws in states that are trying to silence our voices?
Thank you for fighting to undo the power and influence of money in politics.
