John, I wanted to share some updates with you.
President Biden held a press conference this week to reflect on his first year in office. He certainly had some meaningful accomplishments like the bipartisan infrastructure bill, but there were also failures with the military withdrawal from Afghanistan and the inability to reach across the aisle on his other legislative priorities.
Unfortunately, he championed the agenda of the far left rather than keeping his campaign promise to heal Washington and bring about bipartisanship. He needs to shift his strategy to working with moderate Republicans on many of the issues where there can be compromise, such as prescription drug costs, the child tax credit, making government more efficient and efforts to tackle inflation.
As for the Republicans in Congress, they have a real opportunity to take control of the U.S. House, and maybe even the Senate. For that to happen, there needs to be a real agenda to rally around. Loyalty to a former president isn't enough.
You can view clips on my social media account of recent interviews on this topic and other current events.
I'm also excited to share with you that I have a new podcast that will launch on January 27th! I'm teaming up with comedian Jordan Klepper to host a program that will be about life and the fascinating people out there. Please follow along on my social media for more details!
I joined Captain America, Chris Evans and Mark Kassen on their "A Starting Point" program to discuss the debt limit and what it means for America. Give it a listen!
And finally, we recently marked the one-year anniversary of the January 6, 2021 attack on our U.S. Capitol. The lives of our elected officials, law enforcement and very fabric of democracy were threatened that day. We must all commit ourselves to resist those who seek to divide us and incite violence. I spoke about this recently with Don Lemon.
John, together, we are making a real difference. Thank you for all that you're doing to help heal America!
-John
