Today marks 49 years since the Supreme Court decided in favor of the right to choose — since it decided that decisions about our bodies should be our own and no one else’s.

But in the 49 years since this landmark ruling, Roe v. Wade has been under relentless attack. And now, with an ultraconservative majority on the Supreme Court, we are facing the very real possibility that Roe will be overturned this year.

That’s why I’m fighting with everything I have to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would prohibit state laws that ban abortions or create roadblocks to care. In a fight this important, I’m counting on 10,000 members of this team to join me before midnight tonight:

Today of all days, it’s important to recognize the dangerous reality of life without Roe:

If overturned, half of U.S. states would be poised to ban abortion immediately — leaving tens of millions of people without access to care. The impact of these bans and restrictions would fall hardest on those who already face obstacles to health care, including people of color, the LGBTQ+ community and low-income families. 

The stakes have never been higher, John. But until we pass the Women’s Health Protection Act, these dangerous right-wing attempts to erode reproductive rights will only get worse. That’s why I’m asking you to raise your voice today.
