Friend – 49 years ago today, the U.S. Supreme Court issued their decision in Roe v. Wade, the groundbreaking case that legalized abortion nationwide. 

A majority of Americans support access to safe and legal abortion. But, Republicans from state houses across the country to Washington, D.C., continue to wage an all-out assault on reproductive rights. AND they’ve packed the Supreme Court to push their anti-abortion agenda.  

But now, on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court is poised to roll back a right we have had for nearly half a century. In states like Texas and Mississippi, Republicans have already gone against the public and made abortion rights a thing of the past. If Republicans get their way, this reality won’t be limited to a few states. It will affect people all across the country.

We need to be just as determined as they are in our fight to keep abortion legal. But it's going to take unprecedented levels of community organizing to fight back – and a clear-eyed recognition that we win this fight by winning more elections for Democrats.

So please, friend, on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, will you pitch in $5 to make sure we have what it takes to defeat the GOP's attacks on abortion?
