"Instead, whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

- Mark 10:43-45
Africa & Europe
Praise God for a conviction in a case of sexual violence against a child in Kenya – the assault took place six years ago and the long delay of the case was difficult for the victim. This conviction is also one tinged with pain for the survivor, as the perpetrator was her own father. Pray as she works through these complicated emotions, for peace and hope in her future. Pray as well that she would be able to continue her education which was interrupted due to COVID-19.
Latin America
Pray for the success of virtual hearings in Bolivia. With COVID-19 cases on the rise again, courts have resorted to virtual hearings to proceed with cases. However, due to a lack of previous practice with these online tools, many key participants have been unable to attend, causing these hearings to be suspended again and again. Pray for the technological capacities of these individuals to be increased so that processes can continue as planned and sentences can be reached.
South Asia
Please ask for God’s blessings over Mahila,* a survivor of sex trafficking who recently took the bar exam to become a lawyer. Mahila was rescued by authorities in 2005 and, with IJM’s help, discovered her passion for helping others. With years of determination, she put herself through law school part-time and graduated last summer. Pray for a stellar result on her bar exam this month, so that she can become the passionate and inspiring lawyer we know she can be!
Southeast Asia
Please continue to pray for our team in Cebu, Philippines as they recover from the recent typhoon that hit in December 2021. Many of our staff, clients and their families still do not have internet, electricity or water. Please pray for this to be restored quickly and for continued safety, protection and provision for our team there!
