Team,
Today is the 49th anniversary of the landmark Roe v. Wade case that solidified the right to choose. Forty-nine years later, we're facing the most dire threat to Roe v. Wade and reproductive rights from the Supreme Court.
The terrifying reality is there's a possibility that today's anniversary of Roe v. Wade could be the last. Roe v. Wade now hangs in the balance with the Supreme Court weighing cases that could dismantle the right to choose.
Last year Republican state legislatures across the country passed the highest number of abortion restrictions in a given year since Roe v. Wade was decided in 1973. If Roe v. Wade is overturned, we will lose the legal precedent that has protected reproductive rights for 49 years.
Reproductive rights are in danger, and we can't rely on the Supreme Court to defend Roe v. Wade. On Roe's 49th anniversary, will you add your name to call on the Senate to join the House in taking action to protect reproductive rights?
We can't afford to wait any longer for federal legislation to protect reproductive rights. That's why last year Chris and his colleagues in the House voted to pass the Women's Health Protection Act to enshrine the right to vote in federal law. Now we need the Senate to act immediately.
Add your name to call on the Senate to take immediate action to protect reproductive rights by voting on the Women's Health Protection Act >>
Thank you,
