Today marks the 49th anniversary of the landmark case Roe v. Wade. We are on a mission to protect the constitutional right to our bodily autonomy made possible by this Supreme Court ruling on January 22nd, 1973.

For 49 years, women have had access to secure, safe, and effective reproductive care. But that may all change.

Last month, the Supreme Court heard two cases that challenged Roe v. Wade and abortion rights across the country. Let’s take a deeper look at this: Out of the nine Supreme Court Justices, SIX of them are men (not to mention Amy Coney Barrett, who has made it clear that she does not support women’s reproductive rights) who get to decide how women are treated in this country.

Not only is this unjust, it is terrifying that people without a uterus get to make these decisions. If Roe is overturned, 12 states will automatically ban abortions due to trigger laws, and many more will move fast to make abortions illegal or impossible to obtain. In this first month of the New Year, we are extremely worried about the future. But we are determined to turn our worry into action by working HARD to elect pro-choice female candidates this November.
