[link removed] [[link removed]]Dear John,
As you know, much of our work focuses on ensuring our lawmakers listen to the issues that are important to our members and supporters, including climate action, protecting our lands, waters, and wildlife, and securing a healthier, more equitable, and just clean energy future for all.
That's why we're excited to announce Maine's Environmental Priorities Coalition’s (EPC) [[link removed]] — a partnership of 37 environmental, conservation, climate action, and public health organizations — priorities for the 2022 legislative session ! Legislative leaders and advocates announced the coalition’s seven priority bills for this legislative session during the Kick-Off event this week. Thank you to the 150+ folks from across the state who joined us for the live event!
The coalition’s 2022 priority bills include legislation that would:

sovereignty

with

waste
(LD

*
Add
the
Pine
Tree
Amendment
to
Maine’s
Constitution
(LD

*

(LD

*

[link removed] [[link removed]]In the coming weeks and months, we'll need your help to pass these critical bills, and we're looking for volunteers who can contact their elected officials. The success of our common environmental agenda depends on all of us. Sign the pledge to take action [[link removed]] on our priority bills and we’ll keep you posted on opportunities to get involved.
We are starting 2022 in a strong position, with conservation majorities in both chambers and an ally in the Blaine House who champions most of our agenda.
But getting new legislation passed won't be without challenges: this year's session is short, lawmakers will have many competing priorities, and our opponents will be working to stall or derail efforts to protect Maine's environment. We'll be counting on help from you — our members and supporters — to build grassroots support and make sure legislators know just how many Mainers care about tackling the climate crisis, protecting Maine’s treasured lands and waters, and advancing environmental justice for communities hit hardest by pollution.
Thanks for everything you do,
Beth
