We're still unsure of what this investigation might mean for the congressional race in TX-28, but we do know a few things:

Three days ago, FBI agents raided Rep. Henry Cuellar’s home and office as a part of an investigation led by the DOJ team that handles issues related to bribery, corruption, election crimes, and more.
Yesterday, he made his first public appearance since the raid — at a rally with an anti-abortion group — while reports came out that Cuellar was being investigated for pushing Azerbaijani business interests in Congress.
Now, while we're still unsure of what this all means for the congressional race in TX-28, we do know a few things:
- Henry Cuellar — whose conservative Democratic agenda is funded by sources like the fossil fuel industry and the Koch family — still has $2.3 million in the bank.
- Jessica Cisneros — one of Jamaal's first endorsements this cycle! — is running a grassroots campaign with progressive values, and is ready to serve the people of South Texas.
- The TX-28 congressional race is gearing up to be one of the most competitive races in the country this year — and that was even before this latest news.

In the coming days, we're bound to see a narrative crop up from the political establishment around this investigation. We've personally seen and experienced this during Jamaal's first primary campaign.
