DUP Economy Minister Diane Dodds launches the procurement process to deliver roll-out of the Project Stratum scheme.

November 2020
Contract is awarded to Fibrus Networks.

January 2021
First customers begin to be connected

January 2022
DUP Economy Minister Gordon Lyons secures funding to include an additional 8,500 properties to the Project Stratum scheme.

March 2025
Roll-out of the new full-fibre network expected to be completed.

Proposal to end Red Diesel rebate challenged

This week, Carla Lockhart MP secured a debate in Westminster where she called on the Government to postpone their proposal to end the red diesel rebate for use in the construction industry.

She said the cost to the construction sector would be £20m to £25m, and this would be passed on to the cost of both public and private construction, including new homes.

Soaring cost of agency staff unsustainable

Fermanagh and South Tyrone MLA Deborah Erskine has called on the Health Minister to take action to reduce the dependency on agency staff.

In just 10 years, the costs incurred by Health and Social Care Trusts to employ agency workers has soared by over £200million.

Last year the total cost was an eye watering £282million.
