Aloha Fellow Republican,
The Legislature has just begun session at the State Capitol, and right now we need every Hawaii Republican to help us keep our government accountable and responsive to the will of the People.
Don’t make the mistake of waiting for the November election to stand up for your family and to speak up for your community. The future of Hawaii hangs in the balance now as Democratic legislators are preparing to introduce and hear bills that will impact the way we work, play, and live long after elections are over.
This is where we need your help. In the weeks to come, we will be letting members know whenever bad bills – that is, proposed laws – are being scheduled for hearings. We need your help to submit written testimony to the committees to stop the radical Democrat agenda. When a community comes together to protect our families, our small businesses, and our future, Democrats are powerless to abuse their power.
I’m asking you take these quick and easy steps TODAY that will make a big difference:
1. Go to the State Capitol website at [link removed] and register now for a free account ([link removed]) . (You’ll need to register in order to submit testimony, track bills ([link removed]) , find out when committee hearings occur, and more.)
2. Find out who your elected legislators are if you don’t already know. The online tool, “Find My Legislator ([link removed]) ” will allow you to find out which legislators represent you and provide their contact information. Make sure you contact your legislator and tell them the things that are important to you.
3. Download the Legislative calendar ([link removed]) and print out a copy so you’ll know the key dates of this year’s Session, which lasts from January 19, to May 5, 2022.
4. Read the bills that get introduced this Session and stay engaged. We will let you know when important bills and deadlines come up in future emails, but we also need your help to stay engaged and on top of the legislative process. Democrats need to be held accountable to the People, and with your help, they will.
Visit and bookmark the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau’s Public Access Room’s “Engagement 101” information page ([link removed]) to find out how the legislative process works with short, easy-to-understand videos and information sheets about legislators and their committees ([link removed]) .
The late President Ronald Reagan once said, “you and I have the ability and the dignity and the right to make our own decisions and determine our own destiny.” As your Hawaii Republican Party, we are committed to the dignity and rights of our members, and you can count on us to stand for your future. But it will take a united effort by all of us freedom-loving, sincere men and women of action to push back against bad legislators, bad laws, and bad government.
