Today marks 12 years since the Supreme Court made the disastrous decision in Citizens United to open the floodgates for shady, unlimited outside money to penetrate our elections.
In just 2021 alone, Corporate PACs spent over $400 million to bully elected officials into doing their bidding. And we expect 2022 to be even worse as more extreme QAnon candidates run for office than ever before.
Because Josh has been a vocal advocate against corporate PACs and even wrote the bill to ban them once and for all, he has also been a victim of millions of dollars of their attacks. And we know this year is going to be no different because his district is one of the most competitive seats in California, and it is critical to make sure we protect our House majority.
Josh knows what it’s like to beat the corporate PACs and win competitive races but if we want real reform, we need to pass a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United.
