Five years ago today, millions of women poured into the streets in the
wake of Trump’s inauguration in what became the largest single-day of
protest in American history.

We knew that Trump’s administration would be cruel to women, families,
people of color, and immigrants. But we were not daunted, and we did not
back down. Instead we channeled this energy into action, and we took to
the streets.

Since that day, we have transformed from a march to a movement that
responds to the challenges of everyday women, mobilizing our priorities
into decisive action. And we are just getting started.

[ [link removed] ]That’s why we’re setting a goal to raise $10,000 to fund our organizing
efforts so we can continue leveraging our feminist power to demand the
change we need. From the 2022 Midterm Elections, to the attacks we’re
currently witnessing on abortion access — we have big fights ahead of us —
and we need to be ready.

Women’s March wasn’t just built to resist – it was built to persist and
transform. The activism and political participation we’ve cultivated over
the past five years has sowed the seeds for an enduring progressive
movement led by women across race and place.

This is what Women’s March does best: We unite women and harness our
collective power. That’s how we ended Trump’s administration and this is
how we’re going to overcome every challenge we face right now to demand
our politicians deliver meaningful change and protections for women.

It’s not enough that Biden has won, democracy and justice for all needs to
win, and there is much more work to do to hold our leaders accountable and
secure those victories.

Especially now, as we organize against the worst attacks we’ve ever seen
on abortion access, we must remember the power of our movement. We must
continue fighting together to make abortion legal, accessible and free for
everyone in America — especially the Black and Brown communities hit
hardest by restrictions.
