THE EVEST ACT PASSES IN THE HOUSE
H.R. 4673, the Ensuring Veterans' Smooth Transition (EVEST) Act, would automatically enroll veterans into the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) patient enrollment system. Within 60 days the VA would provide instructions on how to opt-out of automatic enrollment. I voted Yes on this bill because it is important to make servicemembers' transition to civilian life seamless, without having to deal with all the paperwork and deadlines of enrolling into their deserved healthcare. I have heard many cases of VA enrollment being declined by some minute procedural error, which is ridiculous. I hope to see that the Senate passes this bill up and votes in favor of our veterans and their sustained health care. Let's get the EVEST Act to President Biden's desk!
