We can’t say that we’re shocked. The Republican Party has for many years marched toward the far-right, and signaling that they don’t have to participate in something as basic to democracy as simple debate is just another step toward extremism.

With the midterm election only 10 months away, we need to come together and ensure we have all the resources to keep our majority and prevent Republicans from unleashing their anti-democratic platform nationwide. Will you join us today and defend our majority?

A healthy sign of our democracy has always been the traditional presidential debates candidates participate in as they make their case to the American people about why they are suited for the job.

But the health of our democracy is not something the GOP is interested in. They continue to deny the events of January 6th, and voter suppression is a cornerstone of their anti-democratic platform.
