When I joined the exclusive House Committee on Ways and Means, one of my goals was to find ways that allow more people to reach one of the pillars of the American Dream: Affordable housing.

For so many, affordable housing is simply out of reach. Today, many hard-working Americans are unable to purchase or rent homes due to rising costs that price them out of their own communities, or they are spending more than 30% of their income on rent. Hundreds of thousands of people are experiencing homelessness.

In the wealthiest country in the world, this is simply unacceptable. When working on Build Back Better, I prioritized making equitable access to housing a cornerstone of the bill. It is an issue that I will continue to fight for and that I ask you to join me in support for today.

Will you chip in whatever you can to help my efforts in ensuring everyone has a place called home?

The Build Back Better bill makes the single largest and comprehensive investment in affordable housing in history.

If passed by the Senate, it will enable the construction, rehabilitation, and improvement of more than 1 million affordable homes, while creating a new Neighborhood Homes Tax Credit that would support home ownership by encouraging the rehabilitation of affordable homes in low-income communities.
