In the year since President Biden took office, Democrats have been working hard to rebuild and restore trust in our democracy. We know that democracies don’t sustain themselves — they have to be defended and I take that responsibility incredibly seriously.

At the heart of our democracy is the right to vote, which has been under attack for far too long. That’s why I was so proud to vote last week for the Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act alongside my Democratic House colleagues.
