I've got a question for you today. Which do you, personally, think is more important?

Protecting the right to vote.

-OR-

The filibuster, a relic from the Jim Crow era that’s been overruled and ignored literally hundreds of times for purposes as mundane as expanding the debt ceiling.

I know where I stand here, and I think I know where you stand too. But just to be clear, I’ll say it again: Voting rights are more important than preserving an archaic Senate rule.

Let me repeat that: the filibuster is a rule. It’s not in the Constitution, and it’s not a right like the right to vote. It is a rule, and it can be changed. But frankly, there are two Senate Democrats who are standing in the way of that change.

Now, we know Republicans have lost their ever-loving minds here. We can’t count on them. But Democrats need to wake up to the reality we’re facing and do everything they can to pass some bills and protect the right to vote. And yes, that includes changing the rules of the Senate and getting rid of the filibuster.

Because the truth is, we are running out of time. Republicans in state legislatures across the country have already passed laws restricting access to the ballot, with more to come before November.

The time to act is now.

But Kyrsten Sinema has continued to side with Republicans on this issue, even proudly shaking their hands on the Senate floor after blocking voting rights legislation.

Enough is enough. If Kyrsten Sinema won’t act to protect voting rights, we need to replace her with someone who will.

So I am asking:

Can you please split a donation between our movement and Change for Arizona 2024 PAC, which will be used to support grassroots organizing groups working to hold her accountable? Democrats who won’t support voting rights need to know there are consequences, and that we will NOT accept continued inaction on an issue as important as the right to vote.

With these hands,

Nina Turner
