Folks,

I ran for Senate because I didn’t see anyone in Washington standing up for dirt farmers like me and my family.

For years, big corporations have dominated the agricultural market in this country. They’ve put family farmers and ranchers out of business, increased meat prices at the grocery store, and jeopardized our nation’s food security.

That’s why I’ve been making a years-long push to increase transparency, accountability, and competition in the agriculture industry.

I’m grateful that President Biden is building on my work by releasing an action plan to address consolidation in the meat industry. I’m ready to work in partnership with him to ensure that rural families can maintain their way of life.

But Congress can take action now to ensure that Montana ranchers get a fair shake at the farm gate and that families can afford meat at the store.

So folks, will you add your name to my petition urging my Senate colleagues to cosponsor my bipartisan Meat Packing Special Investigator Act , so that we can finally hold these massive corporations accountable? [[link removed]]

The Meat Packing Special Investigator Act will create a special office of investigators to address anti-competitive practices in the meat industry and enforce our nation’s laws. Ranchers have been asking for common-sense solutions for years — and passing this bill would help folks in rural communities feed the world.

I’m glad to see the Biden Administration taking action on this crucial issue, and I’m grateful for your support to help us get this done.

Thanks,

Jon
