John -

In this issue of Faith Meets Justice, we honor Fr. Rutilio Grande, S.J., who was martyred in El Salvador in 1977 and will be beatified this weekend, on Saturday, January 22, 2022. We spoke with Francisco Mena, executive director of CRISPAZ in El Salvador, about Fr. Grande, his life and legacy, and his influence on St. Óscar Romero. You can find the video here—please share and feel free to utilize this resource in your home, classroom, parish, or other settings.

Below, you will also find a story about today's Ignatian Family Mass for Life, the latest episode of ISN's Just Conversations podcast exploring race and equity in Catholic educational settings, plus a reflection from a high school student on the power of bringing the voices of asylum seekers on the border to Washington, D.C., during the Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice.

Happy New Year from the staff at ISN—thank you for your continued work for justice in 2022.

Peace,

Christopher G. Kerr
