I want to be totally transparent, friend: Our team has suffered a real setback this past week.
Due to the increase in COVID cases across Western North Carolina, we canceled all of our in-person events for the month. This means no door knocking and no in-person fundraisers for our campaign.
This was, and is, the right thing to do in order to keep everyone in our community safe – however, it has put us behind on our fundraising goals.
With our end-of-month deadline fast approaching, my team is feeling the pressure to get creative and rework our strategy to close the gap while still running a safe and responsible campaign.
To make up for our lack of in-person events, we’re trying to reach more voters and raise more money through ads, emails (like this one!), and text messages. But this can be expensive, which is where your grassroots support comes in.
We need to get back on track to meet our fundraising goal, and we can’t do it without you. Will you chip in $25 or more today to help us catch up for the time we lost?
One of my top priorities throughout my campaign has been to reach voters where they are – on the ground, online, in grocery store parking lots, at tailgates, you name it. Where people are, this campaign will go, but we will always put the health and safety of our community first.
We’re in this together.
