The night before Texas's S.B.8 abortion ban went into effect, independent providers worked until the stroke of midnight to help as many patients as possible.
When the Supreme Court heard a direct challenge to
Roe v. Wade last month, it was an independent abortion provider — Jackson Women's Health Organization (JWHO)— that led the legal fight to protect our rights.
Every day, patients who can't afford the costs of medical care and travel rely on abortion funds to connect them with resources to get the care they need.
Planned Parenthood is proud to be part of the movement to protect abortion access alongside extraordinary partners like these. We know that without independent abortion providers and abortion funds, abortion access would be impossible for so many folks across the country.
Will you help fund the movement with a gift in honor of the anniversary of Roe v. Wade?
Your donation will be shared between your local Planned Parenthood affiliate and organizations that support a nationwide network of independent providers and abortion funds.1
The
Roe v. Wade ruling 49 years ago was a promise to respect the right of pregnant people to make their own medical decisions. And like so many other promises in our history, it has been honored for some people and not for others.
Many people with low incomes can't afford care. Systemic racism and discrimination block access to abortion for Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities. Trans, nonbinary, and gender non-conforming people face ongoing discrimination in reproductive health care, including abortion.
Confronting systemic injustice is not the work of a single person or a single organization. It takes all of us working together to advance equitable abortion access.
Your gift today will support your local Planned Parenthood affiliate as well as independent providers and abortion funds. Don't miss this chance to fund the movement for abortion access.
As we face escalating attacks on reproductive rights and abortion access, it's important to remember that we are not in this alone. Our movement is strongest when we are united. Thank you for doing your part.
In Solidarity,
Danika Severino Wynn, Vice President of Abortion Access
Planned Parenthood Federation of America
