CNN just announced the lineup for each night of the second presidential primary debate ([link removed])) in Detroit, Michigan.
To avoid one debate being labeled an undercard event, CNN used a random drawing to distribute the 20 presidential candidates ([link removed]) who qualified across the two debate segments.
Before the drawing, the candidates were divided into three groups based on their polling performance. These groups were then randomly and equally divided between the two nights.
HERE ARE THE CANDIDATES FOR TUESDAY, JULY 30:

Miramar Mayor Wayne Messam ([link removed]) , Rep. Seth Moulton ([link removed]) , former Rep. Joe Sestak ([link removed]) , and investor Tom Steyer ([link removed]) did not reach the polling or fundraising qualification requirements.
Former Sen. Mike Gravel ([link removed]) reached the fundraising threshold but did not make the debate stage because tiebreaker rules favored candidates who qualified via polling.
All 25 Democratic candidates ([link removed]) will have to meet a new set of debate criteria to appear in the third presidential primary debate ([link removed])) in September in Houston, Texas.
Candidates must reach 2 percent support or more in four qualifying national or early state polls and receive donations from at least 130,000 unique donors and a minimum of 400 unique donors per state in at least 20 states.
Five candidates have qualified so far: Joe Biden ([link removed]) , Pete Buttigieg ([link removed]) , Kamala Harris ([link removed]) , Bernie Sanders ([link removed]) , and Elizabeth Warren ([link removed]) .
