John, it has been a week in Texas’ 28th Congressional District, so we’ll do our best to break it all down for you:
- Earlier this week, the FBI raided Rep. Henry Cuellar’s house AND campaign office, leaving with several boxes of evidence.
- While the raids were happening, Rep. Cuellar’s campaign manager deleted his Twitter account.
- Then, reports emerged that the Department of Justice is involved — specifically the Public Integrity Section (PIN). PIN oversees the investigation and prosecution of all federal crimes affecting government integrity, including bribery of public officials, election crimes, and other related offenses.
We still don’t know why this investigation is happening. What we do know is that early voting starts on February 14 — just 24 days from today. This is an opportunity to show voters Cuellar has a real primary opponent in Jessica Cisneros — but we have to get to work now.
Can you rush a contribution of $5 or any amount to our Working Families Majority Fund to help us get out the vote for Jessica? Every dollar helps us reach as many voters as possible at this critical moment for her campaign.

Henry Cuellar is the last anti-choice “Democrat” standing in the House. The Intercept revealed yesterday that an adviser to his campaign also leads a dark-money group linked to abortion ban activists that recently ran ads against Jessica Cisneros.1
Jessica lost by only 2,746 votes the last time she ran against Cuellar. Unfortunately, he still has millions in corporate PAC money — $2.3 million, to be exact. That’s a lot of money to flood the airwaves with misleading and negative attack ads, so it’s critical we ramp up our efforts in TX-28 as soon as possible.
Rush a contribution of $5 or any amount to our Working Families Majority Fund today to help Jessica beat Henry Cuellar in the primary election. If we raise enough money to expand on our GOTV work in TX-28, we can have a real impact on the outcome.
In solidarity,
Team WFP
