I’m a proud co-sponsor of Cori Bush’s HR 25, a resolution to investigate and expel the members of Congress who tried to overturn election results and aided the deadly January 6th insurrection on our Capitol.

Our Constitution explains that anyone who works in rebellion against the United States government cannot serve in Congress.

During the past year, we’ve seen even more proof of Republican Congressmembers’ premeditated involvement in the racist coup attempt. And they’re pushing ahead with more attempts to invalidate the votes of Black, brown, and Indigenous citizens of our country.

One year later, they still have not yet been held accountable.

Please add your name as a grassroots co-signer of Rep. Cori Bush’s resolution to investigate and expel insurrectionist representatives from Congress. They must face consequences for trying to overturn 2020’s legitimate election results.

We cannot let fascism take hold of our government.

The longer that lawmakers involved in trying to overturn 2020’s election go without facing consequences, the more likely we’ll see this happen in upcoming elections. Already, states have passed laws to overturn people’s votes and make it harder to vote.

Too much is at stake. While we will continue to demand the Senate take action on voting rights, in the meantime we can vote in the House to hold House representatives accountable for their actions surrounding January 6, 2021.

Recent polls have shown that nearly 80% of Republicans still believe the “Big Lie” that President Biden did not win the election, and a majority of Republicans support the use of violence for political means. Surveys make clear that this is about race: Ethnic antagonism is the strongest factor most associated with anti-democratic sentiments among conservatives.

We must send a clear message that we will not allow white supremacists—or anyone—to subvert the will of the people. We must make clear that we will not tolerate violent attacks on our democracy. And we have to show that this country is for ALL of us.
