"Wave of retirements rocks Democrats' hopes of holding the House" -- NBC News

Every few days we keep emailing about retirements, and it’s because things are looking BAD.

26 Democrats have announced they are leaving the House… FIVE of them were announced just in the last month + Democrats only have a 5 seat Majority = The math is not looking good.

After an amazing December (it was our best month all year), we thought we finally were getting into the rhythm needed to beat Republicans. But just a few days into 2022, and we’re already seeing the rate of donations slow down again. Which is unacceptable, John. We’re in the Election Year, if our donations slow down we likely won’t have the resources to save the House Majority.

Each time a Democrat retires, it makes our job harder. It’s one more seat we have to defend – that means more digital ads, more organizing, and more TV ads, all of which take more money.

We can’t afford to lose the House…The Majority might be the only thing keeping us from another term with Trump as President. The stakes couldn’t be higher. But right now, we simply don’t have the funds needed to protect the House.
