Matt’s Republican opponent Jim Bognet is asking his supporters to download Donald Trump’s right-wing social media app and follow him.

It’s the app created by Trump’s team after social media companies began cracking down on misinformation and calls for violence. It’s a dangerous echochamber where violent groups like the Proud Boys and far-right politicians like Marjorie Taylor Greene can spread Trumpian conspiracy theories without fear of violating platform standards.
It’s disappointing that Bognet would tell people to join GETTR, but by no means is it surprising. Much like GETTR, Bognet pretends to be open to the ideas of all people while really serving to uplift Donald Trump and the far-right.
