Not only is this post-Citizens United world we’re living in undemocratic — it is unmistakably corrupt.

12 years ago today, the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision changed politics forever – giving the green light to corporations, special interest groups, and wealthy billionaires to contribute unlimited sums of money to the candidates of their choosing.

As a result, the floodgates opened for mega-donors like the DeVos family and the Koch Brothers to spend millions of dollars influencing politicians and promoting ultra-conservative ideologies across the country. And in Wisconsin alone, political spending from outside groups and Super PACs has increased by 500% in the decade after Citizens United – giving out-of-state millionaires and extremist groups outsized influence over our elections.

Not only is this post-Citizens United world we’re living in undemocratic — it is unmistakably corrupt . That’s why I’m rejecting this system by refusing all corporate PAC money and running a real, people-powered campaign powered by grassroots donors like you.
