*Changes to the Highway Code*

Changes to the Highway Code will take effect from Saturday 29 January to make roads safer for the most vulnerable users. These include a new road user hierarchy, and alterations to pedestrian and road user priority at crossings:


* priority for pedestrians waiting to cross at junctions
* priority for cyclists and horses travelling straight ahead at junctions
* confirmation that cyclists should take safer primary position.

Staying safe

Government guidance on face coverings is changing on Thursday 27 January. We advise that you continue to wear face coverings (unless exempt) on public transport and in other indoor spaces. If you need to travel, follow the safer travel guidance. [ [link removed] ]

Rail services ??

All operators in the city continue to clean vehicles thoroughly on a regular basis, and windows on buses will be kept open for ventilation.

Severn Trent Water replacement scheme

Severn Trent will be undertaking a scheme to replace water mains on various roads in the Forest Fields area from July 2021. This will include rolling road closures and parking suspensions in 100m sections to excavate and install new water mains in the highway.
