Far right thug Tommy Robinson (a.k.a Stephen Lennon) has faked a bankruptcy so he can avoid paying what he owes to Jamal Hijazi, a Syrian refugee he libelled. Yesterday we launched a crowdfunder to raise £50,000 to underwrite core legal costs of the investigation to prove he is lying.

Since then something incredible has happened. In 24 hours nearly 4,000 people have joined the campaign and together we’ve already raised £50,000 which means we can pay for the independent auditor!

But here’s the thing: because of the incredible response we’ve been inundated with new leads about Robinson’s dodgy dealings. For example, I’ve just been reviewing new information about yet another house he seems to own.

We have just a few weeks to investigate and pull all this new information together. With your help we can throw everything we have at this investigation. The more money we crowdfund, the more resources we have to prove Robinson’s bankruptcy is a sham.

This is a HUGE opportunity so we have to move fast. We can only do this if we club together - can you chip in to make sure Robinson pays up once and for all?

In all my time at HOPE not hate, I’ve never seen a response like this. The campaign has exploded. The BBC article covering the campaign was the top read story on their website yesterday and ‘Tommy Robinson’ was trending on social media.

The HOPE not hate research team knows more about Tommy Robinson’s network and dodgy dealings than anyone else. They’ve been on his tail for years - we’ve never been this close to bringing him to justice.

I don’t know how much it will cost, but we’ll do whatever we have to to get this done. This is the best chance we will ever get to secure justice for Jamal and hold Robinson accountable for the hate he spreads. Will you join us?
