This week is our anniversary! It's been over a year since you helped re-elect me to represent you and your family in Washington's 1st congressional district. In such a short amount of time, we've accomplished so much together.

We've passed mandatory background checks for gun purchases through the House, we've worked to take big money out of politics and move our For The People agenda forward, we've fought back against Republican attacks on our health care and won, and so much more.

Every day I am fighting to protect what we've accomplished and advocating for the solutions we still hope to achieve. No matter what, you are my top priority, John. And I want to thank you for sticking with me.

Sadly, there was more than one anniversary this week -- the anniversary of President Donald Trump's election. We all know Trump's legislative track record, and it's nothing worth celebrating.

Since taking office, he and his allies in the Senate have done nothing but attack our health care, destroy our environment, and hurt middle-class families with their failed tax bill.

We have to lay the groundwork NOW to ensure in 2020 we have a Democratic majority in the House and Senate and a president who puts the people first -- not his own ego. So please, join me today in making the pledge. Let's vote progress in.
