Tonga: Zero-Covid island nation fears aid could bring in virus

Zero Covid is a silly idea, especially in the time of omicron, but it kind-of might-have worked in place like Tonga – that is at least until they had to open their borders.  And the volcanic eruption is the best reason to open their borders I have ever seen.  The devastation is immense.  The madness in this story is that someone felt it had to be written.  Covid is a problem, but at this juncture a manageable one.  We haven’t figured out how to manage volcanic eruptions yet, so this is a no brainer decision.  And yet it requires reporting as if it is some sort of...
