Jack, the U.S. Senate failed to protect our freedom to vote this week when 52 senators defended the Jim Crow filibuster and blocked two critical bills that would nationalize election standards and protect our right to vote. But we must keep fighting.
Grassroots pressure, money and action will now need to transfer to the states that have seen the more restrictive voting laws enacted. We need to give local frontline groups every tool available to overcome the barriers Republicans are throwing up.
Daily Kos is supporting ten state-level progressive groups that are fighting Republican voter suppression in their communities. Please chip in $5 to sustain their efforts.

While the U.S. Senate was debating Wednesday night whether to save our democracy, a county board of elections in rural Georgia voted to slash the number of polling places from seven to one—a blatant move to suppress Black voters. This is the s**t we are up against.
Now that there won't likely be federal legislation before the November midterms, the hard work that local community groups are doing to fight Republican voter suppression in those states matter more than ever. We need to make sure they have all the tools and resources at their disposal.
Please donate $5 to these ten state-level groups fighting voter suppression.

Keep fighting,
